EPISODE 001: Arkansas, Abuelitas and Decolonization

For my first episode, I chat with pastor, preacher, interpreter and cross-cultural trainer, Inés Velasquez McBryde. I’m excited to have Inés as my first guest because we’re both Latinas and we both spent time doing ministry in contexts different from our own cultural background. In this episode we talk about what it’s like to be a Latina pastor in Arkansas, reclaiming that Abuelita Theology, and what “decolonizing” our faith looks like.
